Jason

We were greeted by my sister's father, Jason. He was there to pick us up from the airport. I was going to visit everyone in Texas, where I was from. I had decided to bring my best friend, Kendra, with me to meet everyone.
I had talked to him when he had called my sister a few weeks back. I told him about the concert I'd be going to, the Hanson concert. He said, "really?" I said yes, really, that was where I would be going. He said, "Oh." and I heard snickering. I asked him what that was about. He told me that he didn't know I liked Hanson, that was all.
"I don't just like them. I love them."
We both changed the subject and that was that. We talked about a lot of stuff. I asked him if I could stop by and say hello while I was down there. He said, "of coarse."
So, before I left, we had it arranged that he would pick us up and take us to his house to meet his new wife, Julie, and my sister's brothers and sister.
Kendra was extremely quiet on the way from the airport. She didn't know this guy and she is always shy in front of new people.
Jason lead us away from the car and into his 2 story house. A little girl came screaming out to greet all of us. When she saw it wasn't just her daddy, she turned shy and hid her face in her 4-year-old hands.
Jason picked her up and said, "Kara, this is Ashley's other little sister, Emily. And this is Emily's friend, Kendra." Kara said hi and ran back inside.
We followed Jason into the house. When the door opened, there was a party going on. We walked into the living room, where everyone was.
A lady walked up to Jason and gave him a kiss. That must have been Julie. Julie shook our hands and told us to make ourselves at home. Kendra and I made our way over to the couch and just sat down. We didn't know what else to do. We didn't know anyone besides Jason. A guy walked up to us. He must have been 42 or 43 years old. He looked extremely familiar to both of us. He said, "Hi. What's wrong? Aren't yall having any fun?"
"Oh, yeah, we are having fun. It's just that we don't know anyone." I said. Kendra had this puzzled look on her face, and I don't think she was really there.
"Oh, I have an idea. Why don't we put in some music that yall like. Yall can show all of us how yall dance. What kind of music do yall listen to?"
That caught Kendra's attention, and we both looked at each other. At the same time, we said, "Hanson."
"But, I don't think yall would have a Hanson CD anywhere here, would yall?" I asked, knowing this was an adult party and most adults don't like Hanson.
"Of coarse we do. I'll go put it in." And he left.
"Emily, you know who that looked like?" Kendra asked, with sarcasm in her voice.
     "Walker." We both said together.
"Do you think it is?" I asked her.
     "Couldn't be."
I took out my labtop out of my bag and went to Hansonline. I looked up Tour dates and Special Appearances. July 5, private party.
I logged off of Netscape and logged onto AOL. I loaded up my Buddy List. Surfsuphan was online. The person on that screen name had been telling us for a few months that they were Hanson.
What are yall doing today? Where are yall?
That was the instant message I sent.
      They responded with:
We are doing something private. But, I guess I can tell you. We are going to a party in Houston. Our mom's third cousin's husband's daughter's half sister has this thing for us. We are going to surprise them. We are hiding upstairs there right now.

Kendra looked at me. I looked at her. We found Jason and asked where the bathroom was. He told us, "Up the stairs, to the right 3 doors down." We dashed upstairs. Everyone must have thought we had to pee really bad.
We had left our labtop downstairs, so we weren't talking to them anymore. We found the sound of typing and 3 voices. We followed the sounds until we were standing right outside of a bedroom door.
"When do we get to go down there? I wanna get out of this room." That was Zac's voice.
"Really. Hey, Ike, do you think the girl is pretty?" Taylor.
"Yeah, I'm glad he sent us her picture. Now we'll know who to talk to most."
"Dad told me she was bringing a friend." Zac said.
In a interested voice, Taylor said, "Really?"
     "Uhuh." was Zac's reply.
Kendra and I walked away. We went into the bathroom. I took out my brush and makeup bag out of my bag.
Kendra put her hair into a high ponytail and teased it a little. The she put on light make up.
I pulled my hair into a ponytail and braided it. I put on makeup and we left the bathroom.
We walked down stairs, back to the party. Speechless was blasting.
Kendra and I suddenly got an amazing burst of confidence and we started dancing.
When Lucy came on, Kendra and I were sitting down. We were resting and just talking. Jason came over to me and said, "Hey girls, we have a little surprise for you. You see, Julie is Diana Hanson's third cousin. She asked Diana if she could maybe get the boys to come visit, and they said they would."
Kendra and I started crying. Sobbing, screaming, going crazy.
"Walker will be down with the boys in a minute, so stop your crying. Remember, you want them to fall in love with you." Jason smiled at us and handed us tissues.
We wiped our tears away and composed ourselves. Someone put MMMBop on and we smiled. Down the stairs came Zac, Taylor, and Isaac. Kendra walked over to them. I stayed on the couch. I watched her walk, a little unsteadily, over to them and then smile, and then fall backwards to the ground.
Jason picked her up and carried her to the couch. I didn't stand up, for fear I would do the same thing.
Isaac came over to me and said hi. Then Taylor, then Zac. Kendra finally gained conciousness and sat up. Zac sat on the edge of the couch, next to her. Taylor sat between us, and Isaac sat on   the edge next to me. We talked and had a few laughs. Kendra and Zac danced, Tay and I danced. Isaac and I danced once or twice, and we all sat down with a plate of food. We talked more, got to know each other, and finally, it was time to go.
I saw Zac slip Kendra his phone number. Tay gave me his number and told me to call him. "After all, we aren't blood related."
